Solar powered kiosks manufactured from Scott Bader’s Crystic® and Crestamould® products
Scott Bader and DB Max have worked in partnership to produce solar powered kiosks across Africa using Crystic® resins and Crestamould® matched tooling systems.
DB Max are Africa’s leading fibreglass kiosk manufacturer. They were established around 50 years ago from humble beginnings to a company that now operates out of a 4000 square metre factory, with manufacturing facilities in East London and Cape Town, South Africa.
Scott Bader products used:
Crestamould® matched tooling systems are used to produce high performing moulds
Crystic® resins and gelcoats are used to manufacture the kiosk panels
DB Max manufactures the fastest growing micro economic “business in a box solution” across the African continent, in the form of solar powered fibreglass kiosks.
The kiosks are providing a solution to the boom in f inancial payment systems occurring across Africa. They offer a distribution and access point to previously inaccessible market spaces in rural areas. Through digital payment platforms, powered by solar panels, the kiosks take business to people that historically could not be reached.
By collaborating with fintech start-ups, banks, mobile network operators and local Government, the fibreglass kiosks are creating jobs and giving opportunities to entrepreneurs.
The purpose of the kiosks is to make a difference and change the lives of people working in one of the kiosk businesses. Gary Dalbock, Owner DB Max “Scott Bader’s products have proven themselves in the harsh African climate. The SA team is very knowledgeable and works closely with us to solve technical challenges. Scott Bader’s quality is consistent and their products are a pleasure to work with”.
