Scott Bader to Launch Crestafire® and Crestafix® at JEC World 2018
Scott Bader a leading global manufacturer of composite and adhesive products and technologies has chosen JEC World 2018 Show at Paris Nord Villepinte (Hall 6/ stand M27) as the ideal venue to launch two new brands – Crestafire® and Crestafix®, and give two technical presentations, including one about the Crestafire high performance resin and gelcoatsystems available.
Crestafire covers all products that offer Fire, Smoke and Toxic fume (FST) performance for manufacturing fire retardant (FR) composite parts to stringent fire standards required in many building and construction, passenger rail, and land transport applications. The extensiveCrestafire range includes: FR gelcoats and intumescent topcoats; FR structural adhesives; a variety of FR rated open and closed mould, pultrusion and filament winding resins, compatible with glass, carbon and aramid fibre reinforcements.
The Crestafix range of rapid cure bonding pastes are strong, light and tough, developed for a variety of key markets including marine, automotive and land transportation.
Scott Bader will be giving open forum technical presentations about both the Crestafire FSTperformance products and the Crestafix bonding paste product ranges. The first technical presentation titled: ‘Developments in Polyester and vinyl ester bonding paste technology for high performance composite applications’, is being given during day two of the show by Yingying Qin, Senior Materials Engineer for Scott Bader, with the second presentation titled: ‘Scott Bader’s Crestafire High performance resin & gelcoat systems for demanding Building & Construction and Rail applications’ being made on the last day by Neil Gray, Global Market Manager, Fire, Smoke & Toxic fume (FST) Performance products.
Other key products and services being promoted by Scott Bader during JEC World this year include: Crystic® Ecogel ultra low styrene Iso and Iso-NPG spray gelcoats, including the ‘zero’ styrene Ecogel S0 PA grade; Crestomer® urethane acrylate and Crestabond® MMA primer-less structural adhesives for bonding wood, metal, plastic and FRP composite substrates; Crestapol®1260 urethane acrylate resin for producing lightweight CFRP components with high strength and toughness; and the GelTint service which can mix and rapidly deliver single or multiple 20 kg keg orders in a wide range of RAL, BS, NCS and custom colours to a very high level of colour accuracy.
Visitors to the Scott Bader stand will also have the opportunity to see a Caterham Seven CSR-260 sports car with a custom made lightweight CFRP roof, infused using Crestapol 1260 resin. Technical experts will be on hand to answer questions about all the products available.
