Scott Bader recognised for DE&I initiatives at Business Culture Awards 2024
Global chemistry group, Scott Bader, has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiative’ at this year’s Business Culture Awards.
The Business Culture Awards is an international scheme celebrating a diverse set of organisations that have recognised the impact great culture has on continuing performance. Organisations including AstraZeneca UK, British Heart Foundation, Sony Music UK and the University of Liverpool – alongside Scott Bader – have been selected as finalists.
Scott Bader’s nomination comes off the back of a range of DE&I initiatives over the past three years, including; launching a Women in Leadership programme that has now ran five times with 40% of the organisations female colleagues in attendance, the establishment of a global D&I Council, D&I focused e-learning for all colleagues in 2020 and again in 2023, launching RISE a diversity in leadership programme in 2021 and repeated in 2023 with 92% of the first cohort receiving promotions, leadership competencies introduced for all our line managers, introducing a D&I focused Guiding Principle into the Group’s Constitution, and work to improve its UK gender pay gap resulting in Scott Bader’s UK median pay gap sitting at -8.3% in April 2024 compared with a national average of 14.3%.
Scott Bader’s focus on D&I was recently recognised by International certifying body RINA, who awarded them the ISO 30415 Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) standard, making them one of the world’s first manufacturers to receive the prestigious certification. The ISO 30415 standard provides organisations with a robust framework to ensure that their governance bodies, leaders, colleagues, and representatives are equipped with the policies, know-how and understanding to support a workforce that feels psychologically safe and equally empowered to reach their full potential.
Winners of the Business Culture Awards will be unveiled on 13th November in London’s West End.
