Kevin Matthews elected to the Society of Chemical Industry Board of Trustees
We are pleased to announce that Kevin Matthews, Scott Bader’s CEO, has been elected to the Society of Chemical Industry’s (SCI) Board of Trustees.
Kevin was officially elected by SCI members at their Annual General Meeting on 7th July 2021.
An SCI spokesperson said: “It’s testament to Kevin’s reputation and skills that he was directly elected by SCI members to take up this position. These voters represent all aspects of SCI’s activity and thematic areas and comprise people working in both large corporates and SMEs. They are fully aligned with SCI’s charitable purpose and aim of nurturing future talent to continue the great work of members like Kevin. The members also come from academic backgrounds as well as industry – SCI prides itself on bringing together academia and business to create solutions for many societal issues. Kevin aims to continue with this ambition as he begins his tenure.
Kevin said of his appointment: “I am delighted to be elected to SCI’s Board of Trustees. The SCI themes of innovation and empowerment resonate with me and I believe they will be key drivers of the change required to meet the present challenges facing society.”
In March, Scott Bader joined SCI as a corporate partner. SCI is a unique global multidisciplinary network connecting scientists, business people, students and other key players involved in science-based innovation. SCI promotes innovation via its international network to advance the commercial application of science into industry for the benefit of society. They work across crucial sectors as diverse as food and bio-renewables, water, environment, energy, materials and manufacturing, and health and wellbeing.
