Texicryl 13-219
Texicryl 13-219 is a self-crosslinking styrene acrylic copolymer emulsion. With a viscosity of 200mPa s, pH of 7.0, particle size of 150nm, and solids content of 46%, it has been developed by Scott Bader for use in the manufacture of spray-bonded synthetic fibre waddings.
This binder has excellent heat and light-stability, and good wash- and dry-clean solvent resistance. When used in surface bonding and through-bonding, it will help to prevent penetration of fibres while preserving the high loft of the wadding. It is particularly ideal for use in window blinds and other fabric applications, as a stiffener.
Texicryl 13-219 must be cured for 2-3 minutes at 140°C and has an indefinite pot life when used at normal spray bonding concentrations. We recommend that synthetic fibre waddings processed with this acrylic dispersion are dried and cured in hot-air ovens to remove all water vapour during the drying phase.
Texicryl 13-219 copolymer emulsion is supplied pre-catalysed in drums or IBCs and can be purchased in bulk on request. Speak to your local Scott Bader sales representative for more information or download our textiles brochure below.
