Crestomer® 1151A Structural Adhesive
Crestomer 1151A is a fast curing structural adhesive and filleting compound that has been specifically formulated for use in bulk metering systems. This truly fast-fixing, highly thixotropic structural adhesive has a working time of 25 minutes and a fixture time of only 2.5 hours and is effective on vertical surfaces.
This versatile adhesive bonds exceptionally well to a variety of substrates, including stainless steel, aluminium, balsa, marine ply, GRP/FRP, DCPD and polyester resin. Crestomer 1151A is supplied pre-accelerated and is ready to use in bulk application systems with Perkadox BM50LS (standard benzoyl peroxide paste). Although hand mixing and application is possible, there will be an associated reduction in performance. It is recommended that a bulk dispensing machine is used in application to maximise the properties of the adhesive.
Crestomer 1151A is capable of filling gaps between 1 – 20 mm and has a tensile strength of 22-25 MPa and tensile modulus of 1000 – 1500 MPa for superior robustness and stiffness.
It is recommended that this Scott Bader powerful adhesive is applied within a temperature range between 5°C and 30°C to achieve maximum effectiveness. The use of additional fillers or pigments is not necessary as they could compromise the performance of the adhesive.
Crestomer 1151A is supplied in 25kg and 200kg containers.
