Scott Bader Commonwealth grant winner, Livingstone Tanzania Trust, complete their primary school project
In January, we updated you on the Livingstone Tanzania Trust’s progress in building a new double classroom block with an office and a school kitchen using their Scott Bader Commonwealth grant. We are delighted to see that the project has now been completed!
For the past two years the school have been using a temporary kitchen, but no more. This completed kitchen has fuel efficient stoves to reduce the consumption of firewood and a store room to keep the firewood dry and the food safe. The school meals programme is run and funded entirely by the community who recognise the value that a meal provides their children and its importance to ensure attendance, health, growth and improve academic performance.
Below is the finished classroom block and kitchen – what a brilliant job from Livingstone Tanzania Trust! A big congratulations to all involved! We are so pleased to have helped this project and we hope the school children enjoy their new classrooms and kitchen!
