Employee Ownership Day, supported by the UK Employee Ownership Association, is an opportunity for Employee Owned businesses to come together and celebrate their special structure and what it means to them. This year’s 5th EO Day is planned for Friday 30th June. To mark the day it has been decided that our celebration should not be restricted to the UK and that all Scott Bader sites should also have the opportunity to celebrate our unique structure. This year, we wanted to galvanise our EO day celebrations across the Scott Bader Group and encourage sites to organise events in line with our 3 pillars—humanity, ecology and business. As a result, from June through to early July, seven events have been organised (or in some cases have already been held) at a number of sites.

We will be sharing details and photos of events around the group, here’s a taster of what some overseas sites are planning or have already done.

Canada – Colleagues at Scott Bader ATC have spent the day working with a non profit organisation preparing and serving 100 meals to disadvantaged people.

Dubai – In early July colleagues will be holding a fun sports day including; A Walk on the Beach with a Difference, A Hike with a Purpose and a Blood Donation Drive.

US – Our US colleagues have now held their celebration day. They helped clean the Cuyahoga National Park which lead to them building a bridge from materials in the warehouse! The previous day they had also been rowing, so it was a very day few days for the US team!

France – Colleagues will be clearing a stretch of land on their site with a view to using it in the future for staff lunches and activities.

And as you know, in the UK, our EO day celebration was #BaderFest2017 . The day was a huge success with colleagues across the site coming together to celebrate everything Scott Bader, including being an employee owned company. You can find the story of #BaderFest2017 here.
