Composite Yacht use Scott Bader’s market leading marine systems to manufacture sport fishing boat

Composite Yacht is made up of master craftsman and technicians who take pride in the work they do. For over 20 years they have been a family run business continuing the rich tradition of boat building on Maryland’s Eastern shore.

Composite Yacht designed this project to be a fast, lightweight, sports fishing boat with regular struts, propellers and rudders. Scott Bader’s Crestapol 1250 urethane acrylate resin was used to manufacture the major hull and deck parts, using a wet bag process. Infusion was used to create additional parts.

To produce the moulds, Crestamould T27 polyester compound was used. Its low exotherm allowed the moulds to be produced without any side effects from the high temperatures. Crestomer 1152PA structural adhesive was used for the structural bonding of the boat including bonding the stringer sets and the baffles into the fuel tanks. Crestomer 1196PA and Crestabond M1-30 were used to bond the heat formed foam to the hull.

Scott Bader’s marine products were so successful that Composite Yacht are planning to use them on all high-end projects moving forward.

Rob Hardy, Marketing & Sales Manager at Composite Yacht said “As far as using Scott Bader products, they definitely provide a positive user experience throughout the lamination process as well as the subsequent vacuum draw down and cure procedure. We were able to produce an end product that was exactly as needed, from proper resin saturation to specific target weights. All of which were critical in providing the client with the desired result.”
