Scott Bader donates £10,000 to World Land Trust
The World Land Trust (WLT) has received Scott Bader’s £10,000 donation for their Buy An Acre programme. The funds will be used to purchase 100 acres of threatened land to protect and preserve it.
The donation was made possible thanks to Scott Bader colleagues participation in an internal engagement survey. For every survey completed, Scott Bader pledged to donate £10 to WLT plus they would match fund the donation to a maximum of £10,000. Scott Bader colleagues across the Group rallied to complete enough surveys to hit the maximum matched funding amount.
WLT Buy an Acre projects save habitats at risk from deforestation for agriculture, cattle ranching and unsympathetic development, and ultimately become nature reserves which will be protected in perpetuity. Intact, healthy forests are the green lungs of the planet, taking CO2 from the atmosphere and locking it away. Saving the world’s last remaining forests is a crucial way of tackling climate change head on and Buy an Acre funds are currently supporting land purchase in Argentina, Belize and Brazil.
Scott Bader’s partnership with WLT continues to grow
In September 2021, Scott Bader confirmed they had offset their Scope 1 and 2 emissions for 2020 with WLT.
The commitment to offset our carbon emissions came in our Centenary year. However, we have committed to offset our carbon emissions every year moving forward and set a target of a 60% reduction in carbon emissions by 2025.
These commitments are part of our Ecology pillar, one of the three pillars Scott Bader is built on. Our three pillars of Business, Ecology and Humanity combine to form our 2036 vision of becoming a fully sustainable company.
